PIG & UPLAND BIRD

PIG & UPLAND BIRD COMBO Hunts WITH OAK STONE OUTFITTERS

A combination that brings together a great pair, wild pig and the California Valley quail. Our wild pig hunts run all year long, while our upland bird hunts run from October to February. Depending on the time of year, hunters can expect to see an average of 30 pigs a day. The method that we tend to use when hunting wild pigs is spot and stalk, though we also have ground blinds for archery hunters. Average weight is between 155 lbs and 165 lbs with a few taken every year that exceed 300 lbs. In addition, experience some of the largest covey rises that any quail species has to offer. The California Valley quail only resides here on the West Coast, so don’t miss out on a rare opportunity. Our guides and their dogs will be sure to put you on the right trail of these birds and make your hunting exploit one that you will never forget!

What to Expect

After you have successfully taken down your pig and had some time to share your excitement and big accomplishment with family and friends, our expert guides will be ready to take you out the following day to harvest some birds. Bird hunts will consist of two hunts, one morning and one evening, schedule will depend on pig harvest. You will be in the field for 3-4 hours at a time with a break in between to get some refreshments and/or more shells. The birds will be cleaned, packaged, and put on ice for transportation.
